Lansia merupakan kelompok orang yang paling sering mengalami penurunan kualitas tidur. Penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh relaksasi otot progresif terhadap kualitas tidur lansia. Rancangan penelitian ini dengan pendekatan Pretest-Posttest one Group Design. Sampel diambil secara Purposive Sampling. Besar sampel 10 responden, melakukan latihan relaksasi otot progresif selama satu minggu. Kualitas tidur diukur sebelum dan sesudah latihan relaksasi otot progresif menggunakan instrumen PSQI dan analisis data dilakukan secara komputerisasi meliputi analisa univarat dan analisa bivariat menggunakan uji T-Test. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa rata-rata kualitas tidur berdasarkan PSQI sebelum intervensi adalah 13,00 dan setelah intervensi 5,00. Berdasarkan hasil statistic menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan kualitas tidur sesudah latihan releksasi otot progresif dengan nilai p = 0,000. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan latihan releksasi otot progresif terhadap kualitas tidur lansia dimana dengan latihan relaksasi otot progresif dapat meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada lansia.

Older people are the group of people who often experience the decreasing of quality of sleep. This study aimed to examine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation exercise towards older peopleâ??s quality of sleep. The research design is using pretest-posttest one group design. The sample were recruited using purposive sampling. The total sample were 10 participant. Participan were conducted progressive muscle relaxation exercise for a weeks. The quality of sleep were measured before and after the exercise using PSQI instrument and analysis of the data was computerized includes the analysis of univarat and bivariate analysis using T-Test. Based on the survey results revealed that the average sleep quality based on PSQI before intervention was 13,00 and 5,00 after the intervention. Statistic result showed that there are differences in the quality of sleep before and after the decreasing of quality of sleep with a value of p = 0,000. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Progressive Muscle Relaxation Exercise affects the quality of sleep of older people., where the Progressive Muscle Relaxation Exercise can improve sleep quality in the older people.
